23.3.701 EXPIRATION OF REGISTRATION PERIODS
(1) All registrations for motor
vehicles subject to anniversary date registration expire on the last day of the
month preceeding the anniversary registration period. A grace period for
registration exists between the 1st and 25th days of the month. Motor vehicles
must be registered not later than the 25th of the month corresponding to the
anniversary registration period. Thereafter, motor vehicles not properly
registered are in violation of law and subject to the fines, penalties and
sanctions imposed by statute.
(2) A
lien for all fees and taxes due upon these motor vehicles attaches as of the
first day of the anniversary month and continues until all the fees and taxes
are paid.
