37.104.201    COMMUNICATIONS

(1) A ground ambulance must have a VHF mobile radio, and an air ambulance must have a VHF portable radio, each with a minimum of the following:

(a) dual tone multi-frequency encoder;

(b) frequency 155.280 mHz;

(c) frequency 155.340 mHz;

(d) frequency 155.325 mHz;

(e) frequency 155.385 mHz; and

(f) frequency 153.905 mHz.

(2) A nontransporting unit must have the capability of providing at least one radio at every emergency medical scene with a minimum of the following:

(a) frequency 155.280 mHz;

(b) frequency 155.340 mHz; and

(c) frequency 153.905 mHz.

(3) An emergency medical service must have current legal authorization to use each of the frequencies required in (2).
