(1) Foster parents must:
(a) be at least 18 years of age;
(b) be physically, mentally, and emotionally competent to care for children;
(c) like and understand children;
(d) be in good general health;
(e) be able to demonstrate the foster home has sufficient resources to meet the needs of their existing family, independent of foster care reimbursements;
(f) comply with state laws including those that relate to the possession or use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and firearms; and
(g) have lived together for at least 24 months unless an exception is granted.
(2) No person residing in or visiting the foster home may pose a risk or threat to the safety and well being of children in the home.
(3) A foster parent shall not provide exposure to sexual or violent language and behavior inappropriate to the foster child's age, including but not limited to visual or other media depictions, and music, while in the foster parent's home.
