36.11.409 BIODIVERSITY - SALVAGE HARVESTING (1) Salvage of dead and dying material shall be conducted pursuant to 77-5-207, MCA. Salvage shall occur using site-specific assessment of the economic and ecological consequences, when the material left will be taken by firewood cutters, contribute to spread of insect and disease problems, or pose a human safety concern. The department shall recognize the role this material plays in maintaining biodiversity.
