36.21.652 WELL SCREENS
(1) Well
screens shall be constructed of one type of corrosion-resistant material.
(a) The choice of material
should be selected on the basis of chemical analysis of the water or prior
knowledge of the water quality.
(2) The well screen aperture
openings, screen length and diameter should be selected to have sufficient open
area to transmit the desired yield, at aperture entrance velocities of 0.1 feet
per second or less.
(3) Where appropriate, suitable
neoprene packers or cement grout shall be fitted to the top of the well screen
assembly.
